Cambodia-China Progressive Association Commits to Major Infrastructure Investments in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, July 26, 2024 — In a recent meeting with a delegation from the Cambodia-China Progressive Association, led by its Vice President Zhong Zhengbing, Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary General of the Board of Investment of Cambodia, outlined collaborative efforts to create an industrial and agrarian corridor. These projects are poised to propel Cambodia towards achieving its 2050 economic vision and sustaining high economic growth.

During the meeting, which focused on enhancing infrastructure development and exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, Suon Sophal detailed the range of investment facilitations, incentives, and support services available under the current Investment Law of the Kingdom of Cambodia. He encouraged the delegation to engage with relevant governmental bodies, particularly the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, to bolster the project's support.

Zhong Zhengbing expressed the association's commitment to investing in strategic sectors that support the development of a sophisticated transit transportation system. This initiative aims to enhance national connectivity and integrate Cambodia more closely with regional networks, thereby boosting national economic growth and addressing societal needs in a sustainable and environmentally conscious manner.

The Vice President of the Cambodia-China Progressive Association also extended his gratitude for the opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and affirmed the association's dedication to supporting Cambodia's infrastructure ambitions.
